DON’T MISS OUT ON THESE DINNER LECTURES!

Thursday, June 17 NEW SPEAKER!
Bella Bella Patchwork with Norah McMeeking

Dinner Lecture 6:30 pm

It can be easy to “miss” what’s under our feet, but not in the case of the fabulous marble floors of Italy -  which lend themselves to stunning patchwork. This lecture and trunk show is based on Norah’s book, published in Fall 2005 by C&T, which examines these multifaceted designs and, using simple techniques, put them within reach of most quitters. These floors inspire a new approach to sampler quilts that allows secondary patterns to be explored. The distinctive bands can be used in appliqué quilts as well. The possibilities are endless. Come view what Norah’s past students have done, get construction hints. (mexican buffet)

Friday, June 18
Quilting By the Numbers with David Taylor
Dinner Lecture 6:30 pm

David will take us on a journey through this quilt design process, which involves lots of counting, and fortunately, very little math. From inspiration to execution, each of his quilts are painstakingly created to achieve a realistic look, and all are made with just fabric and thread. His unique brand of humor, and his love of quilting, guarantee
you’ll come away from this evening with a smile on your face. (chicken buffet)

Saturday, June 19
Music & More Concert and Lecture with Ricky Tims
Dinner Lecture 6:30 pm

Join award-winning musician and quilter, Ricky Tims, for an evening of stories, humor and music that will keep you spellbound and laughing. Even if you’ve experienced Ricky’s concert before, many quilters will tell you that no two are exactly alike, and new stories and music emerge at each one. Join him as he plays his favorite and most recent compositions with visual display, and listen as he shares what inspires and motivates him in his work and life today. (steak buffet)

Sunday, June 20
Tell Me It Isn’t So! with George Siciliano
Brunch Lecture 10:30 am

You’ve heard the names before. Ohio Star, Card Trick, Bow Tie, Snow Ball, Lone Star and they go on and on. He has a book with 501 quilt blocks. Yet, not one of these wonderful blocks offers the quilt artist the flexibility in variations and design  possibilities that is offered by the Log Cabin block alone. George will talk about
many of these possibilities and show several quilts to spice things up.
